Funding would strengthen safety and privacy at The Table, the organization’s survivor empowerment center in downtown Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (September 18, 2026) — 3Strands Global Foundation has been named one of 10 finalists for the 2026 Impact100 Greater Sacramento grant program, making the organization eligible for $100,000 in transformational funding. Two organizations are finalists in each of Impact100’s five focus areas, and 3Strands is a finalist in Health and Wellness. This year’s awards total $500,000, the largest in Impact100 Greater Sacramento’s history.
3Strands Global Foundation walks alongside survivors of human trafficking and people at high risk of exploitation, offering trauma-informed, survivor-centered services built around safety, healing, empowerment, and long-term independence. Founded in 2010 by 11 Sacramento-area mothers around a kitchen table, the organization serves survivors alongside youth and adults navigating homelessness, foster care, the justice system, disability, poverty, and barriers to stable employment. Its prevention education has reached more than 843,000 students and 138,000 adults, and its PROTECT program earned evidence-based status in 2026 following a federally funded evaluation.
The need close to home is well documented. A study in the peer-reviewed journal that published it, Journal of Human Trafficking, 2023, estimated that more than 13,000 people were sex trafficked in Sacramento County between 2015 and 2020, more than 11 times the number identified by law enforcement and service providers.
The Table was built for that gap. The 12,500-square-foot survivor empowerment and drop-in center opened in downtown Sacramento in 2024, and it is designed to meet the whole person. A survivor who walks in can find a hot meal, a shower and laundry, clinical mental health services, trauma-informed case management, survivor-led support groups, housing navigation, job readiness training, and a place for their children to play while they meet with a case manager. In its first full year, The Table provided more than 2,000 services to over 400 survivors and individuals at risk, and visits rose 119 percent the following year.
Impact100 funding would support the Safe Haven Initiative, a security transformation of The Table. Grant funds would cover specialized window coverings that control visibility from outside the building, secure entry improvements, safety alert tools so staff can respond quickly to a threat, and facility improvements that reduce security vulnerabilities across the space.
“A survivor will not walk through a door if she can be seen walking through it,” said Ashlie Bryant, co-founder, president, and CEO of 3Strands Global Foundation. “Privacy and controlled access are not comforts in this work. They are the conditions that make the work possible at all.”
The upgrades would move safety from a daily concern to a built-in feature of the building, letting survivors take part in services without fear of being seen, followed, or threatened. Because The Table is a permanent facility, the improvements become long-term assets and reduce future emergency security costs.
“Most proposals ask us to fund a program. This one asks us to fund the conditions that let a program exist,” said Morgan Gonzales, Health and Wellness focus group chair for Impact100 Greater Sacramento. “3Strands has the services and the building. The Safe Haven Initiative makes the building safer for their clients.”
Impact100 Greater Sacramento will announce its 2026 grant recipients at the Annual Awards Celebration on Thursday, September 24. Members will vote that evening to determine which five of the ten 10 finalists each receive $100,000.
