Walking into the Workforce

Hi! I’m Jason! I provide comprehensive support and guidance to individuals seeking employment or career advancement opportunities. What is something unique about the role of a Workforce Development Specialist?

I enjoy creating new platforms for clients to stay ahead of the employment landscape. I recently introduced an Employment and Career Training VR Program, using virtual reality to ensure our clients remain competitive. We have the most comprehensive and latest employment apps available. 25 million jobs will require an understanding of Virtual Reality technology by 2026. Clients are fully immersed and can create real-life scenarios from improving interview performance and customer service scenarios (angry customers, presentations, etc.) using A.I. in a safe, controlled, immersive environment. VR technology also allows our clients to explore various career fields of interest; for example, if clients think they want to be a car mechanic, they can learn how to take a car apart and put it back together, oil changes, engine issues, etc. The client can explore any field through simulators, which are used to train NASA astronauts, surgeons, hospitality personnel, and other virtual reality scenarios.

What does it look like to work with a client?

When working with clients, it’s important to establish immediate, short-term, and long-term goals through a comprehensive wrap-around approach, working with case managers to prepare the client for employment opportunities or to reenter the workforce with confidence while gaining the necessary skills they will use throughout their entire employment career.

Once we can identify a client’s interests, past employment, passions, and long-term employment goals–the light clicks on, and they are ready to pursue their employment goals and not just survive but thrive. My job isn’t just to find a client a job, but to find them something they’re passionate about and instill the notion if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. Clients need to hear that they can do it and deserve the job they want. I remind clients how proud I am of their progress, and celebrate with the client when they get a new job/career.

What is the most rewarding part of the job?

There isn’t any other feeling in the world than when I hear “I got the job!” Some of the client feedback or client job updates have warmed my heart, and I could not be any prouder of every single client I have the honor of working with here at 3Strands Global Foundation.
