I used to think that human trafficking and exploitation mostly involved people who were kidnapped and taken to foreign countries or somewhere away from home where they were held prisoner. I now know that it happens far more often and happens with people right in our own communities in their own homes and by people they often know, even family members. I also learned that exploitation is not only sexual but is also labor extortion.
